The Ruble is stronger. Alliance with China and India, as well as open dialogues with other Eastern European nations, offers new, healthy markets for the Russian economy. Ukraine is a failed, corrupt experiment, which has weakened the West irrevocably. The Slavic nation will reunite and hopefully be stronger for it. Mr. Putin acted to save Russia from the Western elite. I believe he and Mother Russia will prevail.
Ideologies can be produced as needed, can they not? As long as they satisfy the material conditions for which they are needed, as a part of the superstructure. Citizen Putin can have someone run one up for him should any deficiency be noticed.
